Day Fifteen - Sunday July 15 - Mazatlan to Navojoa - 374 miles

Note:  From Mazatlan to the States, there is a lot of toll roads.  We will be charged the same rate as the auto fee.  The total of all tolls costs 622 pesos = $58 USD   It is up to us to decide whether we should go on the toll road or not.  We will go on either Mex 15 or Mex 15D.  Mex 15D is a toll road.  Look for a sign with "Cuota" which means fee and "Libre" which means free.

8:00 am:  Take a deep breath before we leave for the States.  Three days!

1:00 pm:  About the time we will arrive Los Mochis for lunch.  Highway 15 threads its way through expansive vegetation farms until the State of Sonora.  It becomes scrublike desert with the foothills of the Sierra Madre Occidental always visible to the east.  The coastline of the Sea of Cortez is barely discernible on the horizon to the west.

6:00 pm:  Navojoa is where we will stay overnight.
