Itinerary

Day Sixteen - Monday July 16 - Navojoa to Santa Ana - 311 miles

9:00 am:  Another long day of motorcycling through the arid desert.  The beautiful nature of desert is evident beyond Santa Ana that you will see the next day.  The road captain has a thought about riding to the States in two days (494 miles and 528 miles with a stop in Guaymas) but he questions the tolerance of the riders during the hot weather.  When the heat wave actually hits the area, it will be pretty hot (105-115 degree) for the bikers without air conditioning and frequent stops for refreshing drinks.

6:00 pm:  Santa Ana is where we will stay overnight.

Note:  Deserts cover about one fifth of our planet, and are caused by extremely low rainfall over an area.  These biomes are nonetheless home to many plants and animals which have through the course of their evolution adapted to this dry environment.
