Day Two - Monday July 2 - Ensenada to Catavina - 229 miles 8:00 am: Hope that we will have a good night sleep after having a party at the Hussong's. By 8 am we should get ready to leave in a group for breakfast at the McDonald's in Ensenada because there is an ATM outlet on the same street. We need to get cash in pesos at Banomex. ($1 = 10.50 pesos) $200-300 will be enough for the entire trip in Baja (gas, meals and lodging). Be sure to bring your ATM card with you as there are many ATM outlets in Mexico. 10:30 am: We ride in a group to the villa of La Bufadora. It is noted for its cleft in the rock which produces a spout of sea foam. Beautiful sight! 11:45 am: Get ready for our first day of tour in the Baja! Beyond the border cities, we will finally roam the open countryside to breeze through. 3:30 pm: Stop for a drink or dinner at the Old San Quintin Restaurant on the right side. 5:30 pm: Stop for a drink at the restaurant in El Rosario on the left side. 6:00 pm: Leave for the most fascinating desert region in the North America of 76 miles to Catavina. 7:30 pm: Arrive Catavina. To reach the campground turn north on the well-marked road near KM 181, less than a mile east of the La Pinta Motel. Follow the paved side road for about 0.8 mile, the campground area is on the left. It is called the Rancho Santa Inez Campround. Attention: Make sure that your tent is well tighted and closed during the night because scorpion, tarantula, black widow, millipedes and rattlesnake creep in this area. At night, it is good time for stargazing. Breathtaking and cool night sky!
